Istria is a peninsula in Croatia known for keeping hidden countless natural gems, like waterfalls, caves, natural parks and many other features that attract the tourists from all over the world.

If you’ve decided to take your vacation in Istria this year there is an overwhelming number of possibilities for you to spend your hard-earned vacation in the best way imaginable.

Most fun awaits directly alongside the coastline. The Istrian coast offers something interesting to everyone, no matter the age or gender. Something for tourists that came to spend their vacation peacefully and without big fuss, as well as the ones that seek out action and fun sports activities.

Why not try kayaking?

For all sports enthusiasts, especially the ones with a knack for an adventure and learning new skills, we would like to invite you to join us on the kayak tour that will sweep you off your feet. Even if you’ve had such an experience already or a similar one, we guarantee that our kayak tour, especially our kayak tour with cave experience, will leave you breathless.

Kayaking in Istria has been a famous form of a passtime for a long time now, however there are some kayak tours that stand out.

The Istrian peninsula is a territory that can be visited in its entirety during one vacation. All the major cities like Rovinj, Umag, Pola (Pula), Novigrad are basically half an hour away by car so clearly there isn’t an excuse valid enough to keep you apart from the most fun you can experience during vacation.

Just a couple of miles from Pola, at the southernmost tip of the Istrian peninsula is Premantura – Poromantore – a small village located before the most famous cape in Europe – Cape Kamenjak. The cape Kamenjak consists of about 30 miles of coastline with several caves and lots of beaches.

There are no words to describe the place. No matter which area of Kamenjak you visit, it will not leave you indifferent. One can spend the whole day on Kamenjak having pure fun that will take you back to your childhood.

The southernmost tip of the cape Kamenjak is the part that is responsible for countless vacation memories of people that visited. There is a beach bar on the very edge of the peninsula called Safari Bar that alone offers numerous possibilities for having the best vacation experience ever.

For the ones that crave more adventurous vacation, or the ones that like to stay active even during holidays, there are a lot of options. Whether you like kayaking, cycling, using the SUP (stand up paddle) and snorkeling, you chose the best spot to take a rest.

Making your best memories

We are Jistra Adventures, a small family business, specialised in guided kayak tours, bike and SUP tours and are located in the vicinity of Pula. Like we’ve mentioned already, the distance between you and us, no matter where you find yourself in Istria is negligible.

If you want to be a part of the majestic kayak tour, the participants are gathering in the morning hours right at the Jistra Adventures base, located in Campsite Arena Stupice. A brief introduction to the basics of kayaking follows, after which the group takes off. The kayaking part per se is not that long, roughly in one hour you’ll see the reason why you chose this adventure. An exceptional view of the high cliffs guarding an enfolded haven.

Right there begins Velika Kolombarica, the cave that has helped so many tourists to decide to come back to Croatia for summer. The view itself brings out a familiar feeling that says – there is heaven on Earth.

Just past the tunnel at the cave’s entrance, the bluest light you have ever seen pierces through the millennial rocks and gives you an -out of this Earth- view. The view alone is worth the trip. It’s one of those views that makes you believe that every little thing is going to be alright. Forever.

The kayak tour doesn’t stop there, on the contrary. In fact, there is so much to choose from next like snorkeling, swimming around and jumping from the cliffs around the cave itself.

The whole trip is guided by people who know the southernmost tip of the peninsula, as well as Cape Kamenjak, like the back of their hand, so you can rest assured – you’re in the safest hands imaginable.

The only prerequisite of the trip is that you can swim. The tour itself is well adjusted for all generations, as long as they’re over 7 years old.

Before the beginning of the kayak tour, we will equip you with a waterproof bag, life jacket and a neoprene suit.
Also, it would be wise of you to bring the following with: sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat or a cap, towel, swimsuit, aqua socks or flip flops and some spare clothes.

You absolutely can’t go wrong if you decide to embark on the kayak tour with cave experience. Swimming and rowing for less than 8 miles around the cape itself, snorkeling inside the cave with a chance to see the flora and the fauna of the Adriatic Sea at these depths, the excitement of cliff jumping, underwater camera to capture every single moment so you don’t forget – those are just some of the reasons you shouldn’t hesitate to try it out.

The tour itself is available in English and Croatian language and lasts roughly around 3,5 hours. Before you set off with the group, you’ll receive a lunch packet – consisting of 1.5 l water, an apple and a power bar.
