Some tours are about the ride. Ours is about the ride and everything you eat along the way. Our Gastro Bike Tour covers 16km of Cape Kamenjak’s coastal trails, but it’s really built around the stops in between – the coves, the views, and one very good farm break.

We start off riding through Kamenjak’s protected pine forests and open trails, home to over 530 plant species and a couple of endemic orchids you won’t spot anywhere else. It’s an easy, scenic ride – no serious hills, just fresh air and sea views most of the way.

Along the way there’s time to stop, cool off in a hidden cove, and – if the group’s feeling it – mess around on an old tire swing hidden in the reeds near the trail. It’s the kind of small, unplanned stop that ends up being everyone’s favorite part of the day.

Then comes the part most people are secretly riding for: a stop at a local Istrian farm, where our guides set you up with homemade prosciutto, cheese, olives, and a glass of local wine, all straight from domestic production. No shortcuts, no packaged snacks – just the real thing, the way Istrian families have been making it for generations.

From there, it’s back on the bikes for the ride to the legendary Safari Bar, where the tour winds down with a cold drink and a well-earned rest before the ride back. By the time the sun starts dipping toward the sea, you’ve covered a good chunk of Kamenjak’s coastline – and tasted most of what makes Istria’s food scene worth talking about. Some rides even time it so the very last stretch back is spent watching the light turn gold over the water, bikes leaned against a tree while everyone takes a minute to just look at the view.

The tour runs 5 hours in total, with plenty of breaks built in, so it’s less about how fast you ride and more about how much you enjoy the stops. It’s a good fit for anyone who wants an active day without skipping a proper meal – bring sneakers, a swimsuit, sunscreen, and an appetite.
