Pula

As I´ve been gathering my thoughts about this blog post and what to write in it, John Heywood´s famous line was stuck in my mind… „Rome wasn´t bulit in a day, but they were laying bricks every hour.“

Many of you might not know, but the historical city of Pula is often described as „Croatian Rome“…

Maybe because of the fact that it´s been built on seven hills, just like Rome, maybe because of the magnificent, the most famous and important monument, the starting and ending point of every sightseeing tour in Pula, the Amphitheater, popularly called the Arena of Pula?

I´ll be bold and say it´s because, other than just similarities it shares with Rome, it has so many hidden gems, places that are just waiting for you and inviting you to visit them…

So let me share some of them with you…

On it´s own, Pula offers alot… Historical landmarks, museums, great food, vine tasting,  relaxing music concerts under starry skies, it has you covered.

But let´s say, you are a bit of an adrenaline junkie, or you just simply love nature, or you just want to get away from yout daily routine and leave your phone, laptop and your work obligations and just relax… Pula offers that too- nature parks, water sports, aquarium, walking tours, bike tours, kayak tours, snorkeling, exploring caves, cliff jumping, …   you name it basically, you can find it, if you know where to look.

You have to keep in mind that these tours or sightseeing spots are usually a bit outside of Pula, in small villages like Premantura, Banjole, Pomer or Medulin, all in 15 km radius south of Pula.
